Bay Area Tactical’s BSIS Chemical Agents Certification course provides state-compliant training for security professionals seeking authorization to carry OC spray (pepper spray) as part of their duties, in accordance with the standards established by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS).

This course combines focused classroom instruction with practical, hands-on training to ensure students understand both the legal framework and real-world application of non-lethal force options. Participants learn when chemical agents are legally justified, how they function, and how to apply them safely and effectively under stress.

Led by experienced instructors, the program emphasizes judgment, de-escalation, and officer safety. Students are guided through proper deployment techniques, exposure awareness, and post-incident responsibilities to ensure professional and compliant use in the field.
