Participants will learn how to: • Recognize a medical emergency • Handle breathing and cardiac emergencies • Assess patients • Address airway and breathing emergencies, including training on ventilation devices and oxygen • Respond to cardiac emergencies, including CPR and automated external defibrillation training • Treat illness and injury, including medical emergencies, such as bleeding and shock, soft-tissue injuries, and muscle, bone, head and spinal injuries • Perform remote-location first aid and EMS Operations • Respond to childbirth scenarios Class comprises of two full class days (7 hours) and one review and test day (4/5 hours). The first class will comprise where students receiving their book and DVD while undergoing the first lecture and exercises (6/16/18). The second class utilizes lessons learned into application of responses through hands-on exercises in various situations and scenarios (6/30/18). Th final day will consist of a Q&A as review and ultimately final test for certification (7/14/18).
