According to FBI Data, "Crime is on the Rise" in the Bay Area. 11 out of the 15 largest cities such as Oakland and San Francisco have steadily increased in number of "Violent" and "Property" crimes. With greater and greater affluence in the area due to the tech boom, many residents, new and old, are with more wealth and valuables. Additionally, local laws have reduced penalties for many non-violent crimes and even some violent crimes so that local prisons are less overcrowded than years before. The combination of these new developments has created a unique opportunity for criminals to capitialize on.

Bay Area Tactical Group, was founded on providing professional training for firearms and defense tactics. With all staff fully NRA Certified alongside a seasoned history with either law enforcement/military, BATG offers curriculum from introductory pistols and firearms safety to more comprehensive courses like “Defend your Domain.” Our goal is to not only provide more knowledge towards beginners and experts about firearm responsibility and safety, but to also create an impactful company that can possibly curb crime rates and help our clientele deescalate potentially dangerous scenarios.


Richard is a United States Marines Corps veteran. As a Network Communications Sergeant, he led groups of Marines in setting up ADHOC communication centers in diverse environments from mountain to urban terrain. Richard left the Marines in 2015 and joined BAT Tactical in firearm instructions training. With his knowledge and experience, he assists in both the classroom and range, and enjoys providing students with a comfortable setting to help them learn effectively, properly, and safely while having fun. Richard is a Certified NRA Instructor and Range Safety Officer.
Lon is an active member of Law Enforcement with over 20+ years on duty. His long-standing career has him encounter a wide array of cases such as organizational criminal activity. Undergoing such cases puts him in very particular situations where tactics and law familiarity is critical. George is very adamant when it comes to firearms safety, but loves to teach beginners and experts precision shooting and tactics.
Fonz is currently a DOD Federal Law Enforcement Officer out of Travis AFB. He has National Rifle Association (NRA) certifications in the disciplines of Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO), Personal Protection Inside the Home (PPIH), Personal Protection Outside the Home (PPOH), Rifle, Pistol, and Shotgun. From 2000-2010, he was an active duty Staff Sergeant for the U.S. Army with two tours of Iraq. Part-Time Gunsmith and Cerakote applicator at Eclipse Firearms and Training; and competitive shooter in USPSA, IDPA and 3 Gun.
Dennis has worked in Emergency Respond Services for over 20 years as well as a Public Safety and Recovery Diver for the last 5 years. Working with Federal, State and Local agencies has given Dennis a robust knowledge of all types of emergency response at all levels. As a dedicated instructor for the last 10 years Dennis has taken much of his experience and training and created a unique approach to Tactical First-Aid.
Dominic has served the Bay Area for the past 20+ years as a peace officer. Starting out as a beat cop on the streets of San Francisco, he transitioned through different departments including the Sheriffs office and SWAT. This provided him a wealth of experience gained through street experience and training in eclectic environments and positions. Eventually retiring, he is now post-certified instructor for LEO's.
***In Honor of Kevin for helping us develop our Defend your Domain class and providing us invaluable lessons on tactics we now pass on towards our students. You will be missed as a friend, brother, and mentor*** Kevin is a former Corrections Deputy, Police Officer, Deputy Sheriff, and SWAT Team Leader as well as the Survival Skills Program Coordinator/Course Developer and Lead Instructor for the Oregon Police Academy. He was the Oregon Law Enforcement Use of Force Expert, a Certified NRA Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor, and coauthor of the NRA Advanced Law Enforcement Firearms Program. He developed and implemented the Train the Trainer Program for Public Safety Personnel for the State of Oregon. Kevin was an adjutant instructor for the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors. Those members include Law Enforcement and Military Instructors from around the world. He assisted various Law Enforcement agencies throughout the United States with the development of their Use of Force, Firearms, Defensive Tactics, and Force on Force training and polices. Kevin is now the Southern Nevada NRA-ILA Grassroots Volunteer Coordinator, (Frontlines Activist Leader). Along with educating, promoting, and supporting responsible firearms ownership and use, he coordinates NRA volunteers in political activities and events that help protect the 2nd Amendment Rights of all law abiding Nevada residence.
Norman has spent the last 10 years designing and implementing new warfighter gear for the US military. Over this time he has gone through numerous exercises with the different branches of military in order to test and evaluate new gear in order to develop the best possible product for operator use. As a certified NRA instructor, he hopes to relay proper shooting fundamentals towards students and provide insight on shooting sports.
Eddy is a United States Marine Corps Veteran. As an infantry Marine he deployed to various locations with 2nd Battalion 7th Marines, worked alongside our militaries special operation teams, as well as training foreign military personnel. He was apart of 2/7’s Scout sniper platoon where he learned various skills in long range precision shooting. He exited the Marines in 2017 and continued his education in the medical field. Eddy enjoys teaching students about proper firearm fundamentals while emphasizing a comfortable setting where everyone is eager to learn and have fun.
Former SWAT Commander and certified POST/NRA instructor of over 20+ years. Through these of experience and mentorship, Brian is able to provide students a unique opportunity of learning effective skills for home defense, precision shooting, and effective tactics to prevail in an emergency event.
James is currently an active Law Enforcement Officer with over 20 years of experience in the San Francisco Bay Area. During his career he has worked in numerous specialized units, such as Robbery Abatement / Suppression, Narcotics, Specialist Team as a sniper / ground arrest member. He is the firearms instructor for his current department, and a POST certified instructor for handgun, shotgun, and patrol rifle.
Kevin is an active member of law enforcement with over 10+ years of experience. Kevin also has 10+ years of experience as a SWAT Team member. He is certified to teach pistol, rifle and shotgun to other law enforcement officers. Kevin is also a certified NRA pistol instructor. Kevin enjoys teaching proper use of firearms and firearms safety to shooters with all types of experiences.

Tony is a US Military Veteran that has 16 years of service under his belt. During his time in the military he served in US Army, the Illinois National Guard, and the Army Reserve. In addition to his military service Tony is also a certified NRA instructor. He has provided great insight to his students, and hopes to pass down his knowledge of proper firearm fundamentals. Tony Hui (許先生) 許先生是美軍國退役下士,並為美軍服役了長達十六年之久。在這十六年内,許先生曾為美國陸軍,伊利諾伊州囯民警衛,陸軍後備役服務。許先生擁有超過四十年射擊的經驗, 熟悉各種槍械操作,並擁有美國來復槍協會(NRA)認證導師資格。許先生畢生喜愛槍械,並致力提高華人擁槍文化,並希望傳承下去。

Kimberly is a NRA certified instructor and an accomplished martial artist with over 20 years of experience. She currently holds a 2nd degree black belt in American Kenpo and a blue belt in Brazilian JiuJitsu. She has a passion for empowering others to defend themselves. She is a professional stunt performer and has trained with law enforcement and military on tactical movements to further her knowledge. Kimberly is a graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science with a minor in biology. She has held a certification with the American College of Sports Medicine for over 10 years and is currently an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist. Kimberly holds a Level 1 Precision Nutrition Certification and is a Level 2 YogaFit Instructor. Kimberly started personal training and teaching group fitness in 2008 and is licensed as a Zumba Instructor. She loves teaching others and helping them achieve their goals.
Cung Le made his first appearance on the professional M.M.A. stage in 2006, and shortly after won the Strikeforce Middleweight Championship in 2008, setting high standards through his powerful kicks, skillful strikes, and well-timed take-downs. This U.S.-Viet Namese champion, actor, producer and action director is a household name in many parts of East Asia and is equally adored in Hollywood. He has starred in many major movies such as 'Puncture Wounds', 'Dragon Eyes', 'The Man With the Iron Fists', 'Pandorum' and Oscar-nominated 'The Grandmaster'. Born in Saigon, Viet Nam and arrived in the U.S. at three years old, this world-class fighter has graced the covers of many major martial arts publications such as Inside Kung Fu, Black Belt, Martial Arts Illustrated; and has made headlines and appearances in numerous main-stream outlets all over the world.
Danny served 4 years as a rifleman in the United States Marine Corps. Upon completing his first deployment, he was promoted to a fireteam leader, where he lead a team of 3 marines and shortly after promoted to squad leader, leading a team of 11 marines. After completing his second deployment, he worked for a variety of private security companies until his enlistment was completed. During that time, not only did he due his duty but also informed his coworkers on how to implement lethal and non-lethal tactics as well as lethal and non-lethal firearms. The USMC has instilled upon Danny the passion to help and with that in mind he has embraced the opportunity to pass on his firearms knowledge that was instilled upon him to his students.
Allen has been in the Marine Corps since 2017. He is an Electro-Optical Ordinance Technician who is trained in repair of laser, night-vision and optical equipment of fire-control equipment in infantry, vehicle-mounted and artillery. Allen is NRA-Certified and enjoys teaching students on safe and proper handling of firearms.
I'm Dennis H. I am an NRA certified pistol and CCW instructor. I have been with BAT for 3 plus years. I have been training with current and ex-law enforcement and military personnel. I'm currently in the process of becoming a police officer and training in EMS and Scuba Diving instructor. I mainly focus on safely and great experiences for the students.
Evan is a Bay Area Native who spent five years as a Reconnaissance Marine at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. During his time in the Marine Corps, he acquired many military certifications including combat diver, static-line jumpmaster, military freefaller, and Marine scout sniper. He enjoys sharing the fun of long-distance precision rifle shooting with others. Currently he works as a chemical engineer in Silicon Valley.
